In December, many people tend to reflect on the past 12 months and to start thinking about the year ahead.

Some may even go as far as writing a list of their New Year’s resolutions only to abandon them just a few months down the line. In fact, as many as 80% of New Year’s resolutions fail by February, according to a U.S. News & World Report published in 2015.

Could it something to do with the fact that the word “resolutions” itself is not particularly inspiring? It implies the loss of carefree indulgence, sweat in the gym or while pounding streets in the bleak light of winter and the bitter disappointment of realising that we need to work even harder and longer to achieve the results we want.
